MOTHERHOOD MEETS BASSLINES: VIRAL SENSATION “MUMS THAT RAVE” TAKES OVER BIRMINGHAM

VIRAL SENSATION “MUMS THAT RAVE” TAKES OVER BIRMINGHAM

Saturday June 7th 2-6pm, Hockley Social Club

International DJ sensation Nikki Beatnik brings her groundbreaking daytime rave movement to Hockley Social Club this June

After conquering London’s club scene and amassing over 80 million views worldwide, the phenomenon that’s redefining motherhood one beat at a time is about to electrify Birmingham. Mums That Rave, the revolutionary afternoon dance party created by veteran DJ Nikki Beatnik, lands at Hockley Social Club on Saturday, June 7th from 2-6pm.

This isn’t just another party – it’s a movement. With a staggering 60,000 followers across social platforms and 22 wildly successful events, Mums That Rave has tapped into something profound: mothers deserve spaces where they can reclaim their identity beyond parenthood.

“There is something so empowering about a group of mums raving hard to drum & bass, hip hop & garage on a Saturday afternoon,”

But Mums That Rave was born from personal revelation. After becoming a mother in 2014, touring until just four days before giving birth, Beatnik confronted the industry’s stark reality for women with children. “Motherhood can be very isolating with a good deal of the mental load falling to Mums,” she notes. The search for her “Mum tribe” on social media left her empty-handed, sparking the idea for creating the community herself.

Five years later, Mums That Rave emerged as more than entertainment, it became a sanctuary where women find connection, joy, and liberation through music. The Birmingham debut promises the same electric atmosphere that has made these afternoon sessions legendary.

“This party has become a metaphor for women smashing stereotypes, two fingers up to ageism and the expectations and pressures of motherhood,” Beatnik declares with characteristic passion. “I’m on a crusade for Mamas, the best way I know – via THE RAVE!”

With a DJ career spanning two decades across 70 countries and six continents, Beatnik brings unparalleled musical expertise to these afternoon sessions. From Glastonbury to Cannes Film Festival, her experience curating unforgettable soundscapes now serves a noble purpose: creating a welcoming space for mothers in club culture while celebrating their vital contributions to the scene.

Birmingham mothers, mark your calendars. This isn’t just a party – it’s a revolution.
